🇩🇪 Am vergangenen Wochenende fand für mich der letzte von drei geplanten Wildcards in Portimao bei der World Superbike statt. Portimao kannte ich aus dem Vorjahr, eine Strecke die mir sehr gefällt, sehr anspruchsvoll ist und ich auch schon oft Schwierigkeiten hatte. In den freien Trainings konzentrierten wir uns hauptsächlich darauf gut in den Rhythmus zu kommen. Wir machten einige Änderungen am Motorrad und ich konnte am Freitagabend P10 belegen. Im Quali hatte ich leider wieder ein Paar Schwierigkeiten, ich wollte zuviel und machte in meiner schnellsten Runde einen Fehler auf der Bremse. Somit war ich auf P12 im Grid.
Rennen 1: Mein Start war ok, jedoch hatte ich direkt in Kurve 5 eine Berührung mit einem anderen Fahrer, der sich enorm verbremst hat und mich am Vorderrad berührt hat. Ich ging weit und verlor wieder viele Positionen. Ich hab mein Maximum um so schnell es geht Positionen zurück zu erobern. Von P17 fuhr ich bis auf P11 vor und führte die zweite Führungsgruppe für 7 Runden an. In der letzten Runde ging ich weit und konnte Sebestyen leider um ein Paar Hundertstel nicht mehr schlagen.
Rennen 2: Mein Start war eine Katastrophe. Im selben Moment wo ich von den ersten in den zweiten Gang schalten wollte hatte ich eine Berührung mit Soomer und mein Motorrad hing im neutral Gang fest. Ich hatte sehr viel Glück, dass ich nicht von hinten getroffen wurde. Ich verlor enorm viel Zeit. Leider hatte ich einen Kontakt mit Billy van Eerde in Kurve 13 und musste erneut weit gehen. Ich kam in Runde 1 auf P26 zurück. Ich gab wirklich alles und fuhr jede Runde ans absolute Limit um irgendwie nach vorne zu kommen. Zu Rennmitte war ich sogar schneller als die Führungsgruppe und konnte mich auf P15 vorarbeiten. Leider verpasste ich um 6 Tausendstel P14. Ich gab mein Maximum, leider konnte ich für den Vorfall am Start nichts.

Im Moment arbeiten wir an dem Paket für 2022. Ich hoffe wir können das restliche Budget für die kommende Saison aufstellen und ich kann wieder zurück in die WM! 😉

🇬🇧 On the past weekend we have been to portimao for my last of three wildcards in world supersport this year. I have known portimao from 2020, I circuit I really like but where I have had struggled also. On Friday we were focused to find a good rhythm. We made some good changes on the bike and I was able to set the 10th fastest time on Friday’s practice sessions. In quali I struggled again a bit. I had a really good lap going but I wanted a bit too much and run wide in the last sector. That meant P12 in the grid.
Race 1: My start war okay but I had contact with another rider into turn 5. He made a mistake on the brakes and touched my front tire. I ran wide and lost a bunch of positions. I have given my absolute maximum to come back. Mid race I was leading the second group for 7 laps. I just made a little mistake into turn 1 and ran a bit wide. I finished the race in P12 after a comeback from P17. I knew that I just need a better start for the second race and I could follow the first group and fight for top positions.
Race 2: My start was a drama. In the moment I was shifting into second gear I had contact with another rider again and my bike went into neutral. I was really lucky that no one was hitting me in the back. In the first lap I had also contact with Billy van Eerde and I ran wide again. I came back after lap one in P26. I was almost riding “the shit out of myself” to come back as quick as possible. Mid race I was faster than the leaders for a few laps. I have given my everything but I couldn’t do more than P15. It was a good come back but with the drama from the start I wasn’t able to do more.

At the moment we are working on the Package for 2022, I hope we can manage to get the budget together and I can join world supersport for a full season again! 😉
