🇩🇪 Am Freitag fanden die Freien Trainings statt. In der kombinierten Zeitenliste konnte ich mich deutlich auf dem ersten Platz absetzen. Auch eine Rennsimulation brachte uns sehr wichtige Informationen, mit denen wir schon für das Rennen einige Sachen optimieren konnten. Das Gefühl war in Renntrimm als auch im Qualitrimm sehr gut.

Am Samstag fanden die Qualifikationen statt. Es war erneut ein super guter Fortschritt erkennbar. In 2023 hatte ich speziell im Quali enorme Probleme eine einzige schnelle Runde zu fahren. Dies stand auf unserer Winter To-Do-Liste und wir konnten sowohl am Setup als auch an mir Fahrerisch einiges herausfinden um mir ein gutes Gefühl für eine Runde zu geben. Somit konnte ich meine aller erste Poleposition erzielen und einen neuen IDM Rundenrekord aufstellen! Außerdem war die Rundenzeit gut genug für P12 in der MotoGP und ist mit der Rundenzeit von 2023 aus dem MotoGP Quali vom Weltmeister Fabio Quartararo identisch! 🔥

Rennen 1: Kurz vor dem Rennen fing es an zu Regnen. Wir machten schnelle Entscheidungen, da der Regen unerwartet kam. Alle Wetterprognosen haben nicht Wort gehalten. Somit wurden wir mehr oder weniger ins kalte Wasser geschmissen. Wir konnten eine gute Zwischenlösung finden und gingen mit viel Gefühl an die Sache, denn ich hatte kaum Regenkilometer auf dem Superbike. Alle Tests bisher gaben uns nie die Möglichkeit im Regen zu trainieren. Mein Start war gut und ich konnte mit der Führungsgruppe mitfahren. Einige Kleinigkeiten konnte ich während der Fahrt am Lenkerschalter optimieren, die Traktionskontrolle und Motorbremse habe ich mir so hingedreht, dass ich das Rennen am Ende auf einem sehr starken dritten Platz beenden konnte. Definitiv ein sehr starkes Renen für das Gesamtergebnis, denn meine beiden Hauptkonkurrenten waren hinter mir und meine Regenschwäche konnte ich mit Köpfchen umfahren. 🙏🏼

Rennen 2: Es war endlich soweit. Trockene Strecke obwohl es 10 Minuten vor dem Rennen noch genieselt hatte. Ich wusste, es ist meine Chance. Mein Start war sehr gut, jedoch machte ich in Kurve 1 einen kleinen Fehler und Florian Alt kam innen durch. Das Rennen war ein reiner Dreikampf zwischen den beiden Deutschen Meistern Florian Alt und Ilya Mikhalchic. Es ging bis zum Ende hart zu. Nach dem 6. Gescheiterten Überholversuch an Alt versuchte ich meinen Hinterreifen zu schonen und die ganze Zeit auf der Bremse gut zu machen. Dies war ein perfekter Plan, denn die letzten paar Runden konnte ich meine deutlich überlegene Pace vom Freitag und Samstag ausspielen. In der vorletzten Runde konnte ich die Führung übernehmen und das letzte Überholmanöver von Alt abwehren. P1 im Rennen und Führung in der Gesamttabelle war das Ergebnis!! 🏆

Was für ein Wochenende! Die harte Arbeit zahlt sich aus! Ein absoluter Traum. Der Winter war hart durchgetaktet von Training, aber das Gefühl, dass unser Plan aufging hat alles Übertroffen! Danke an das Team, ein fehlerfreies Wochenende, trotz extrem schwierigen Bedingungen haben wir die Nerven behalten und die Belohnung in Form der IDM-Führung bekommen. Danke ebenso an alle involvierten Personen und alle Sponsoren die mir es möglich gemacht haben einen so extrem dicht getakteten Winter zu planen um das Beste aus mir rauszuholen!! 💪🏼🙌🏼

🇬🇧 The first round of the IDM Superbike took place at the weekend. The season has finally started, I couldn’t wait any longer. The preparations in the “pre-season” were great and we were able to significantly improve our package.

The free practice sessions took place on Friday. In the combined time list I was able to clearly secure first place. A race simulation also gave us very important information that allowed us to optimize a few things for the race. The feeling was very good in racing trim as well as in qualifying trim.

The qualifications took place on Saturday. Once again, great progress was evident. In 2023 I had enormous problems doing a single fast lap, especially in qualifying. This was on our winter to-do list and we were able to find out a lot about the setup as well as my riding skills to give me a good feeling for a fast lap. So I was able to achieve my very first pole position and set a new IDM lap record! In addition, the lap time was good enough for P12 in MotoGP and is identical to the 2023 lap time from the MotoGP qualifying by world champion Fabio Quartararo! 🔥

Race 1: Shortly before the race it started to rain. We made quick decisions as the rain was unexpected. All the weather forecasts didn’t keep their word. So we were more or less thrown into the deep end. We were able to find a good interim solution and approached the matter with a lot of feeling, because I hardly had any kilometers in the rain on the Superbike. All tests so far have never given us the opportunity to train in the rain. My start was good and I was able to ride with the leading group. I was able to optimize a few small things using the handlebar switch while riding, I adjusted the traction control and engine brake so that I was able to finish the race in a very strong third place. Definitely a very strong race for the overall result, because my two main competitors were behind me and I was able to get around my weakness in the rain with clever tactics. 🙏🏼

Race 2: It was finally time. Dry track even though it was drizzling 10 minutes before the race. I knew it was my chance. My start was very good, but I made a small mistake in Turn 1 and Florian Alt got through on the inside. The race was a pure three-way battle between the two German champions Florian Alt and Ilya Mikhalchic. It was tough until the end. After the 6th failed attempt to overtake Alt, I tried to protect my rear tire. This was a perfect plan because in the last few laps I was able to use my clearly superior pace from Friday and Saturday. On the penultimate lap I was able to take the lead and fend off Alt’s last overtaking maneuver. P1 in the race and lead in the overall table was the result!! 🏆

What a weekend! The hard work pays off! An absolute dream. The winter was busy with training, but the feeling that our plan worked surpassed everything! Thanks to the team, a flawless weekend, despite extremely difficult conditions we kept our nerve and got the reward in the form of the IDM lead. Thanks also to all the people involved and all the sponsors who made it possible for me to plan such an extremely busy winter in order to get the best out of me!! 💪🏼🙌🏼
