🇩🇪 Wie einige von euch schon aus meiner WhatsApp Gruppe mitbekommen haben waren wir Ende der vergangenen Woche beim BMW Test in Zolder für die Langstrecken Weltmeisterschaft. Spontan kam ein Anruf als ich am Heimweg vom Test in Navarra war. Der Anruf kam vom BMW Factory EWC Teamchef Werner Daemen.

Loris Baz hatte sich in Indonesien beim WM Lauf verletzt und kann bei den 24 Stunden von LeMans nicht starten, somit soll ich als 4ter Fahrer nach LeMans mitkommen. Anfangs war ich mir nicht ganz sicher, denn ich saß noch nie auf der WM Factory BMW, dann hatte sich Werner aber sofort dazu entschieden mit versammelter Mannschaft nur für mich alleine einen Test in Zolder zu machen. Also habe ich sofort zugesagt denn so eine Chance bekommt man nur einmal im Leben.

Wir gingen nach Zolder und fanden zwei perfekt aufgebaute Factory EWC BMW’s vor, eine komplette Mannschaft mit 7 Mechanikern und genug Teile die getestet werden mussten. Für mich absolut perfekt. Leider konnte sich das Wetter nicht entscheiden und wir hatten einen extremen Endurance Test, eigentlich perfekt aber die Bedingungen waren nie ganz klar und oft gemischt. Super um die Dunlop Reifen auszuprobieren, die alles andere als frei erhältlich sind. 

Selbst bin ich absolut happy mit dem extremen Aufwand den das Team betrieben hat, mit LKW, zwei Bikes und kompletter Manschaft nur für mich nach Zolder zu reisen für einen Test! ☺️

Aktuell bin ich schon in LeMans angekommen und bereit für die ersten Freien Trainings die morgen starten! Mal kucken wie es wird! Bis bald 💪🏼💪🏼

🇬🇧 As some of you have already noticed from my WhatsApp group, we were at the BMW test in Zolder for the Endurance World Championship at the end of last week. A spontaneous call came when I was on my way home from the test in Navarra. The call came from BMW Factory EWC Team Principal Werner Daemen.

Loris Baz was injured at the World Championships in Indonesia and won’t be able to start at the 24 Hours of LeMans, so I should come to LeMans as the 4th rider. At first I wasn’t quite sure, because I’d never sat on the WM Factory BMW, but then Werner immediately decided to do a test in Zolder with the entire team just for me. So I said yes straight away because you only get a chance like this once in a lifetime.

We went to Zolder and found two perfectly built Factory EWC BMW’s, a full crew of 7 mechanics and enough parts to test. Absolutely perfect for me. Unfortunately, the weather couldn’t make up its mind and we had an extreme endurance test, actually perfect, but the conditions were never entirely clear and often mixed. Great for trying out the Dunlop tyres, which are not free available.

I am absolutely happy with the extreme effort that the team put into traveling to Zolder with a truck, two bikes and the entire team just for me for a test! 😊

I’ve already arrived at LeMans and am ready for the first free practice sessions that start tomorrow! Let’s see how it will be! See you soon 💪🏼💪🏼
